The exact location will be decided nearer to the day as we will have a much better idea of what the weather is doing. We will certainly try out best to find dry rock but may have to scramble if the conditions don't allow climbing.  After a climbing filled day, we will be heading to the pub in true LUMC fashion. This is a vital skill that will keep both you and your climbing partner safe at the crag. For those of you who would like to come to Scotland this year please get your lottery ticket from this page! The lottery will be open until midnight this Sunday (12th November), and we will let you know if you have received a place at some point on Monday. Tickets will be prioitised to those who have been on club trips before. This is because we need to know that anyone coming on the trip has a good level of fitness and will not fall behind on days out. 

For our first mixed trip of the year we'll be heading over to the wonderful Welsh mountains! We will be staying in a lovely hut situated in Crafnant valley in Snowdonia, North Wales.  Not only is the hut surrounded by beautiful views and scenery, it is also right on the doorstep of multiple walks and climbs. We will also have access to fantastic hut facilities, including a very grand fire place! Please be aware that if you wish to come on this trip to climb then climbing experiencece is desireable, however, not totally necessary. If you would like to climb and have never climbed before then I suggest that you head to one of our Wednesday afternoon Awesom Walls sessions.  Tickest will be £35 and will go on sale on 29th October (next sunday evening) at 8pm. With the aim of climbing on a variety of rock types in the space of a weekend.  We will be staying in the Liverpool University activity base just outside Llanberis. This is the perfect place to stay to reach any crag in the area quickly. ***It would be helpful if you are able to lead belay for this trip. If you cannot already, please make sure to head to the awesome walls sessions running on Wednesday afternoons for the next two weeks.*** ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Essential Kit you MUST have: - AU MEMBERSHIP  - CLIMBING SHOES!!! - Waterproof jacket & trousers - Headtorch and spare batteries  - Warm layers - Waterproof boots/approach shoes - Hat and gloves - AU MEMBERSHIP - Sleeping bag - At least a one litre bottle which can be filled up at the hut  - Day bag for trips to the crag  - Clothes for two days and nights - If you have any climbing gear of your own then please bring it along.  Food: To keep things nice and simple we will split into food groups of between 4-6, and stop at a supermarket on the way down to pick up food for the weekend. This session will cost £5.50, and be run by members of LUMC at Awesome Walls Liverpool This session will run from 15:00. We will meet you at the main enterance to the sports centre at 14:00 to show you the way. Harnesses will be free of charge, and you can either wear climbing shoes at the centre or wear trainers.

For those of you that are completely new to climbing or those of you that could do with a refesher on your rope skills, these sessions are for you! This session will cost £5.50, and be run by members of LUMC at Awesome Walls Liverpool This session will run from 17:00-19:00. We will meet you at the main enterance to the sports centre at 16:00 to show you the way. Harnesses will be free of charge, and you can either wear climbing shoes at the centre or wear trainers.

Choose your desert wisely

For the second year, LUMC will once again be heading across the Channel and (attempting) to cruise up some of the world famous boulders of Fontainebleau.  The trip will be running during the first week of the Easter break, starting around 3rd April for roughly a week (exact dates tbc) and last year ended up costing around £150.  If you are very sure you want to come, can you please register your interest by getting a free ticket for this event. Then we can decide on numbers and transport.
