Awesome Walls
14:00 – 16:00
This is the second of many weekly sessions at Awesome Walls! There are only 20 available slots as this will make sure everyone can be taught properly and we have a limited number of ropes and harnesses. These sessions are for indoor rope climbing. If you have no experience I would recommend booking onto one of the sessions Awesome Walls has kindly provided to learn a few basics! As well as learning to toprope and belay, which are essential if you want to do any other kinds of climbing these sessions are super fun and very social so please do come along! (Also at least one visit is needed if you want to take part in any club trips so I can check you know how to belay). Don't worry if you don't have any equipment, everything except climbing shoes can be provided for you, although you're more than welcome to bring your own! If you're not sure where Awesome Walls is I'll be doing a walk down from the sports center on campus which will give you a chance to meet people, and makes sure you won't get lost!

If it’s cold enough there may even be some exciting winter activities on the books. Remember you must have LUMC membership to come on the trip! We will be asking which activities, you would prefer to do. Breakfasts and lunches individually. We will stop en-route on the Friday night at a big supermarket for supplies. If you've any questions ask on the Facebook event. Please do not send personal messages as they might go into the abyss of the 'other' box and other members will not benefit. "The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement."
