Fresher's Walking Trip
07:00 – 21:00
PLEASE DO NOT BUY A LEADER/DRIVER TICKET UNLESS YOU ARE LEADING OR DRIVING!!! Welcome, old and new LUMC members, to the first walking trip of the year, which will see us head to beautiful Langdale in the Lake District- unless it's raining but that never happens in this country.  No experience is required and there will be a range of routes available to cater for all abilities and the severity of people's hangovers.  As is customary on LUMC trips we will end the day in the pub, so bring some cash along for beer or something warmer, which will hopefully round of a fabulous day.  EQUIPTMENT NEEDED >Waterproof walking boots (trainers are not good enough and  having soaking wet feet all day is not fun) >Waterproof jacket (not a designer one which pretends to be  waterproof)  >Walking trousers or anything that is flexible and quick drying NOT  JEANS  >Waterproof trousers  >Warm clothes such as fleeces and thermal base layers and spare  socks >NO JEANS  >Hat and gloves as it may be very cold on the hilltops >AT LEAST one litre of water >Packed lunch and snacks- you don't want to be hungry  >NO JEANS >Headtorch >A rucksack to put all your stuff in and a dry bag/bin bag inside to  keep the contents dry >A survival bag >NO JEANS OPTIONAL ITEMS >LUMC membership (you do not need LUMC membership to come on this trip but you will need it for all the following ones) >Camera >Money  >Map/compass if you want to do some navigation For your own saftey it is vital you have the required equiptment.  A lot of this stuff can be found fairly cheaply online (e.g. amazon). There are also several outdoor shops in Liverpool such as Cotswolds, Adapt Outdoors and Millets.  If you're struggling to get you hands on any equiptment, please do not hesistate to contact me, as we do have some spares, but please don't leave it to the last minute. If you have any other questions regarding the trip feel free to message me :)  Tickets will be on sale from 8pm Sunday 1st October and will probabaly be on a first-come first-serve basis, with new club members getting priority but there may be available tickets for previous members too. More ticket information and pickup times will be released nearer the time.  I look forward to seeing both new faces and old and hope to get this year off to a great start!  Elliot (walking captain)
