High Spy Day Hike
National Trust Bowder Stone Car Park

On Sunday (29th September) we're going on our first hike of the year! We will be going up high Spy in the Lake District, it is a gorgeous route, roughly 6.5 miles long with some steep inclines and incredible views over Derwent water. Be prepared to get a bit muddy and wet... get innn :0 Kit list - Waterproofs - there is a chance of rain Walking boots (preferably with ankle support), or grippy walking trainers Warm Clothing (Fleece) Snacks & Lunch and PLENTY of water Schedule The ticket price includes pickups from outside the sports centre on campus at 7:40 on Saturday morning, try to be there in advance as we'll be heading straight to Smithdown Asda Carpark for 7:50 to pick up the remaining climbers, where we will aim to leave at 8. We hope to be back in Liverpool for around 10-11ish so bring plenty of food and drink to keep you going. !!! Payments made after ticket confirmation to our Paypal using friends and family @  tres.lumc@gmail.com !!! No AU membership is required for our first trip of the year

Trevor Quarry Day trip

On Saturday (28th Sept) we will be going on LUMCs first outdoor climbing trip of the year!! People will be able to get involved in outdoor lead and sport climbing at the beautiful Trevor Quarry in Llangollen which is accessible for all abilities. Committee and members will be happy to help so don't worry if this will be your first time outdoor climbing. We'll probably stop by a pub on the way home too... it's going to be epic - don't miss it! Schedule The ticket price includes pickups from outside the sports centre on campus at 8:40 on Saturday morning, try to be there in advance as we'll be heading straight to Smithdown Asda Carpark for 8:50 to pick up the remaining climbers, where we will aim to leave at 9. We hope to be back in Liverpool for around 10-11ish so bring plenty of food and drink to keep you going, so remember to bring warm clothes as it can get quite chilly, and waterproofs just in case. All gear like helmets and harnesses will be provided however you will need climbing shoes as we don't have any spares!! !!! Rope Climbing Taster

This will primarily be a teaching session led by the club for anyone who wants to have a go at rope climbing, though any competent sport climbers who are keen are also welcome to come along. We will take you through all the basics of rope climbing and belaying. Any equipment that people require will be provided, but you will have to pay for entry to the centre.  IMPORTANT: Already competent sport climbers who don't need any teaching do not need to get a ticket.

Weekend trip round 3!!!! IMPORTANT NOTICE !!  AU MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED FOR THE WEEKEND TRIP. NO MEMBERSHIP, NO TICKET. WE WILL CHECK ! The 2nd-4th Feb we will be going to North Wales for a weekend of climbing, bouldering and walking !!! We will be staying at the Caseg Fraith hut in Snowdonia. This is fantastic oppourtunity to see wales for the first time or return to its gorgeous view and climb or hike all over. The weather looks decent, perhaps a bit drizzly on saturday but should be ok for climbing hard. So just a heads up if you're planning to come, bring lots of layers, warm socks, gloves, hats and waterproofs. Below is a full kitlist so you can make sure not to forget anything. For this trip, you will need to bring: Sleeping Bag Sleeping matt Pillow Warm Clothes Lunches for Saturday and Sunday Friday night dinner (or eat beforehand) Hiking/Climbing stuff (depending on what you want to do!) Suitable footwear (not trainers!) If you are keen on climbing - Please bring your own shoes! We are gonna be doing some climbing which is very difficult in normal shoes! Suitable clothes (No jeans!) As many warm clothing items you can carry  Waterproofs Any medication you may need (we have first aid kits, but don't carry stuff like inhalers, epipens etc.) Pick ups will be on Friday at: 6PM at Sports Hall Carpark 6:15PM at Smithdown ASDA   Looking forward to seeing you all out there !

The 1st-3rd Dec we will be going to the peak district for a weekend of climbing, bouldering and walking !!! We will be staying at the stoney Middleton hut in the centre of the peaks. This could be a great opportunity to learn to trad climb or go bouldering on some of the best boulders in the country. The weather looks absolutely freezing (literally) but sunny so perfect conditions for climbing hard. So just a heads up if you're planning to come, bring lots of layers, warm socks, gloves, hats. Also the hut we stay in will be pretty small and cosy so please if you have them try and bring a sleeping matt and bag !! LUMC are having our first weekend trip of the year to Blaen Y Nant in the lovely mountains of Snowdonia! The format of an LUMC weekend trip is usually pretty flexible, but roughly it goes like this Friday evening - arrive and have some drinks/chill in the hut Saturday - in the morning everyone chooses what they want to do for the day then groups split and go out. Dinner prepared by the lovely committee in the evening then fun activities/games/music after Sunday - Clean up the hut (everyone has to help!) and get another day of activity in, then drive home (often via a pub) and get back in the evening For this trip, you will need to bring: Sleeping Bag Pillow Warm Clothes Lunches for Saturday and Sunday Friday night dinner (or eat beforehand) Hiking/Climbing stuff (depending on what you want to do!) Suitable footwear (not trainers!) If you are keen on climbing - Please bring your own shoes! We are gonna be doing some climbing which is very difficult in normal shoes! Suitable clothes (No jeans!) Trevor Quarry Climbing Trip - 7th Oct

This Saturday (7th Oct) is LUMCs first outdoor climbing trip !!! We are heading to Trevor quarry in Llangollen for a day packed with as much climbing as we can. This is a great crag with accessible climbing for all abilities and in a beautiful location as well. So dont worry if you have little outdoor experience as our committee and members are all well experienced and happy to help. Schedule We will be offering pickups from outside the sports centre on campus at 7.40 saturday morning, aim to be there a bit before as we will head straight to Smithdown ASDA carpark for 7.50 to pick up any remaining climbers and be leaving for wales at 8:00. We hope to be back in liverpool late evening usually around 10-11ish so bring plenty of food and drink with you to keep you going, also remember to bring warm clothes as it can be quite chilly. CASEG FRAITH FEB 2023 Hello everyone! This Friday (the 24th) we'll be motoring over to the lovely Caseg Fraith hut for our biggest trip of the year! We've got a fantastic weekend of hiking and climbing planned, and all of us on the committee are super excited to get back in the hut. To come along you will need the following: Sleeping bag + Pillow Warm Clothes Food for lunches and Friday night dinner Any climbing equipment you have (if you want to climb) an AU membership Hiking Boots/Suitable footwear (No Trainers) Suitable Clothes (No Jeans) Waterproofs Tickets for this trip are £45. The money all goes towards the Vans, Huts, equipment and food for dinner on Saturday and breakfasts. To pay for your ticket, send the money to tres.lumc@gmail.com on paypal. Please use Family and Friends otherwise we lose money on each transaction! We will check both who has AU membership and who has paid on the day and will turn you away if you are missing either!! Hey gang!!! LUMC are going to be have their super mega cool and festive Christmas Meal on the 8th of December at 6pm at the Hope & Anchor! Once you select your ticket, I will send you an email with the form to choose your food. Please note that if you don't send payment within 48 hours of you completing the form you may lose your place! The only way to confirm is through payment to the club paypal (details on the form). Prices are as follows £17.50 for 3 courses £14.50 for 2 courses Some menu items cost extra, these are listed on the form.

Burbage Climbing Trip - 16/10

What's going on guys!!! LUMC are running their first official Climbing Trip of the year to Burbage South in the peak district (weather dependant)! Pickup will be from either Smithdown ASDA carpark or On Campus at the sports center carpark. Pickup will be at 7:30am at Campus or 7:45am at Smithdown. Aiming to be back in liverpool by 7-8pm. You must have AU membership to join this trip. To come along you will need the following - Clothes you can move in (bring a warm layer too! It is October!) - A tasty lunch - Plenty of water - Climbing equipment if you have it! We can provide if not. Tickets are £15, which is just to cover transport, petrol and equipment.
